Students in the master program may combine their degree with a second USILD degree. MAIA works with the Graduate Programs of Legal studies, Usild School of Public Policy, and the Usild School of Business and Executive Education to offer the following dual degrees.

Note: You must complete individual applications, pay separate application fees, and be admitted into each degree program independently.

In addition to completing graduation requirements for the non-MAIA program, all degree candidates for all joint dual degree programs candidates must pass the MAIA language proficiency examination, pass the MAIA one-hour oral examination, and complete the MAIA leadership requirement, including an internship or professional experience.

MLS/MAIA (Mater in Legal Studies & Master of Arts in Internation Affairs)

The MLS/MAIA dual degree is a four-year, full-time, 115-credit program credits offering courses from the required MAIA curriculum and international law courses. A typical MLS/MAIA schedule includes 24 MAIA credits in the first year, 31 JD credits in the second year, and a combination of credits from both programs during the third and fourth years.

Although it is preferable that applicants apply to both programs at the same time, you can apply for the dual degree program during the first year of the USILD MLS program, or during the first year of MAIA. You should indicate your intentions for a dual degree on all admissions materials. MLS accepts the LSAT in lieu of the GRE or GMAT for dual degree applicants, however, standardized tests are optional for MSFS. MBA/MAIA

The MBA/MAIA dual degree is a three-year, full-time, 84-credit program in which students complete the first year of the Master of Business Administration program, the first year of the MAIA program, and complete a third year which combines MAIA and MBA electives.

Although it is preferable that applicants apply to both programs at the same time, you can apply for the dual degree program during the first year of the USILD MBA program, or during the first year of MAIA. You should indicate your intentions for a dual degree on all admissions materials. We accept the GMAT in lieu of the GRE for dual degree applicants, however, standardized tests are optional for MAIA. MPP/MAIA

The MPP/MSFS dual degree is a three-year, full-time, 78 credit hours program in which you pursue both the MSFS and Master in Public Policy degrees. Courses include both MAIA and MPP requirements each year.

You must meet the admissions criteria of both schools and must complete separate applications simultaneously for each department by the January 15 deadline. You should indicate your intentions for a dual degree on all admissions materials.
